Financial Controller

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and ambitious Financial Controller to join a large, privately owned organisation with extensive operations across the South of England and a strong track record of investment and growth.
Reporting to the Finance Director, this role offers the opportunity to take ownership of the finance function while supporting the wider business. You will lead the day-to-day financial operations, manage the transactional finance team and help strengthen reporting and financial processes as the organisation continues to evolve.
This role will suit someone who enjoys working closely with the business and ensuring the finance function provides clarity and structure to support decision making.

The Role
The Financial Controller will oversee the day-to-day running of the finance function while supporting the Finance Director.
Key responsibilities include:
• Managing and developing the transactional finance team
• Producing accurate monthly management accounts and financial reporting
• Supporting financial planning, forecasting and budgeting
• Maintaining financial controls and governance
• Monitoring cash flow
• Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting
About You
We are looking for a dynamic and ambitious finance leader with strong technical capability and a practical, hands-on approach.
You are likely to demonstrate:
• Experience operating at Financial Controller level or within a senior finance leadership role
• Strong experience producing management accounts and financial reporting
• Experience managing and developing transactional finance teams
• The ability to translate financial information into clear insight
• A collaborative and pragmatic approach
• A proactive mindset and the ambition to continue developing your career
• Experience within operationally intensive industries such as construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, logistics or related sectors would be advantageous.
